Today’s life style and pace of life and erratic eating habits have been a very responsible factor for pre-mature baldness. It is not only affecting the males but also females are now bearing the embarrassment of a thinning hairline. On an average a person loses 50-100 hair per day and gains an equal amount gradually but when this cycle stops mid way – the fall continues but when it is not replaced by new follicles, it is an indicator that baldness is setting in.
Baldness is more common in males in comparison to females; this is because the hormones responsible for baldness are more in males than in females and this deficiency is hereditary. We are giving here some remedies and measures that can be taken to strengthen your hair and reduce hair-fall and baldness.
REASONS FOR BALDNESS
*Due to any chronic ailment or side effect of any drug use over a prolonged period.
*Daily use of shampoo / soap for washing hair.
*Malfunction of the pituitary glands
*Lack of essential minerals and vitamins in the body.
*Due to weak roots of the hair.
*Constant Headaches – due to which blood circulation is affected and weakens the hair roots /follicles.
*Due to any chronic or severe illness or prolonged high fever.
*Frequent use of hair dye / color
*Harmful effects of smoking
*Polluted atmosphere / surroundings; keeping unclean hair and improper care.
These are some of the important reasons for hair loss /weakening of hair roots that, ultimately leading to baldness.
REMEDIES TO PREVENT BALDNESS
*Excess intake of salt should be avoided: excessive intake hastens baldness.
*If you are losing hair in patches, it is advised that you rub a lemon on the bald patches; regeneration of hair is possible.
*Boil Urad daal’ and grind to a paste: apply on the bald patches during night time; wash off in the day. This is a very beneficial remedy.
*Rub onion juice on to the bald patches; soon new hair shall start growing.
*Boil Neem leaves and Gooseberry powder and use it to wash your hair, at least twice a week.
*Include maximum amount of garlic in your food; garlic promotes hair growth.
* Applying Coriander paste on the bald patches helps in re-growth of hair.
*Apply Neem oil, it promotes hair growth and strengthens the hair-roots.
*Mix together Olive oil, a spoonful of honey and a spoonful of Cinnamon [Daalchini] and make a thick paste – apply this paste 15-20 minutes before taking a bath; then wash it off with warm water. Within a few days you shall notice new hair growing.
*Take a spoonful of salt [powdered] and a spoonful of pepper [powdered]; mix them in coconut oil and apply regularly; it will promote hair growth very fast.
* Take some Nigella Seeds [Kalonji], powder them and mix well in water; use this water to wash your hair regularly; gradually you shall notice that your hair-fall has reduced and growth of new hair will also be visible.
*Mash a banana and mix it with lemon juice; apply this on the bald patches of your head; helps in hair re-growth.
*Oils of Coconut, Almonds, Olives and Gooseberry are very useful for hair growth and rejuvenation.
*Gooseberry is considered very beneficial for the hair; take out the flesh of the gooseberry and mix it with lemon juice and apply it over your head / hair overnight; in the morning it can be washed out.
*Fenugreek [Methi] is also very beneficial for the hair; it contains proteins and nicotinic acid which have an important role in hair growth. Soak some fenugreek seeds in the night in water and in the morning grind it to a paste ; apply this paste in your hair and leave for 10-15 minutes ; wash it away during your bath; repeat this at least twice a week; this shall stop hair-fall completely and also add volume to the hair.
*Add liquorices to milk and make a paste; apply this paste over your hair and leave it overnight – wash away in the morning. Doing this 4 times a week for 3 months will give surprising results; fresh growth can be noticed.
*Five teaspoons of curd ,one teaspoon of lemon juice and two spoons of gram flour [black] – mix well together and apply - leave for one hour and then wash it away ; do this 2-3 times a week ; it shall strengthen the hair and the possibility of fresh hair also is not ruled out.
